Thornhill Angling Club organished another "Sponsored Fishing Competition" in 2014 and managed to raise the signifcant sum of £1747. This represented an even better result than in 2013. The money was handed over by Chairman Donald Peirson to the current treasurer of the local MCS fund raising committee on the 1st December 2014. The main organiser for the club, was David James so a special thanks to David and all the friends and families who helped make this event a great success. All the money raised and collected by the local MCS committee goes towards the considerable amount of financial commitment put into our area by Macmillan Cancer Support. The Rosewood Centre, based at Dewsbury General Hospital is a key contact point for anyone that has to deal with cancer related issues, and may need some of the many Macmillan Cancer Support services. A sincere "Thank you" from MCS to all that took part.
